Liber Cooperative, for the SlowAlp project and in cooperation with the Tourims Office of the Regional Department for tourism, sport, trading and transport and the municipalities of Allein, Doues, Ollomont, Roisan and Valpelline, organized for the summer 2014 an event dedicated to the edible natural herbs on the territory.
This cultural and gastronomical initiative shows how to recognize and use the edible natural herbs growing on the territory, and it’s developed in four kind of activities:
- themed walks to learn how to recognize the natural herbs, with experts’ support;
- local products’ promotion, with the involvement of touristic structures;
- traditional knowledge seminars and talks;
- cultural and gastronomical events with local products;
This year’s theme is the Grand Combin’s nettle.
Among this year’s events:
- a walk with an expert excursion guide to learn how to recognize and collect the nettle;
- a dinner with sampling menu base on nettle and other edible natural herbs;
- a gastronomical competition for nettle-based dishes.
Moreover, restaurant owners from the Grand Combin mountain community will receive some informative materials, with themed recipes to be added to the normal menu at the time of the events.

Ticket entrance for the dinner/tasting is Euro 20,00 per person; booking before Wednesday 6 August 2014.
For the excursion, it is strongly suggested to have: hiking boots, wind-proof jacket, hat, water, folding knife, bags, flash light and, if available, digital camera.
